Antwort:"In the UK any car constructed before 1973 has road tax free of charge. The only criterion is the age. If there is a dispute about the age, normally an applicable club would provide evidence, although I suppose it is possible that FIVA papers might support this, but otherwise I believe they are irrelevant. Once a car's age has been accepted, it appears on the registration document and normally that is it for ever. Insurance for classic and earlier cars is cheaper, but that is because of commercial arrangements by insurance companies on the assumption that owners tend to do lower mileages and are more careful with classics. Again, nothing to do with FIVA."2.Antwort:"It's nonsense. There is no particular classic car registration in the UK. Any car can be registered and used for any purpose without restriction. There is however a concession by which cars made in 1973 or earlier are exempt from the annual licence fee. Such cars are registered as "Historic" on their documents. This is automatic in the case of cars which have been in regular use since 1973 but more difficult for imported cars or those which for some reason have lost their original registration number. The owner needs to get independent verification of the age of the car and is then issued with an "age related number" and registered as a "Historic vehicle". FIVA are not involved although I suppose in theory they could be an authenticating body for proof of age. The whole issue is made more compicated by our stupid national obsession with, and the consequent high value of early registration numbers."Um beim Englischen zu bleiben - I´ll rest my case !Grüße,Ralf
