Boat transport trailer

Hi all.Excuse me for writing in english (i don't know german ) and perhaps i'm a little OT.I plain to buy a classic boat in Austria (a wood '60 Pirat dinghi) complete with own trailer.The seller has send to me a copy of trailer's documents where i've seen that it is an "AT 60" model built in 1967 by "Walter Winterhoff Priorei / Westfalen".Now i need to tranfer it here in Italy and i believe that must convert the documents, so will be possible that the Italian transport's agency ask to me the original project designs with measures, weight etc ...I'm looked for this builder on Internet, but with no luck, so i kindly ask to you if there is an idea to find some documents about this trailer and builder.Thank you so much for help.ALex-Beitrag geändert:12.03.08 11:38:43

Hi Alex,if I were you, I would not think to much about transfering the documents into italian versions. Austria and also Germany are parts of the EU, and therefor even italian authorities should be able to read every requested data from the existing documents. For the Transport-purpose only you don´t need any document, as long you or the transporter is in posession of a document, that belongs to the trailer and proofs the origin and the ownership. And then, back home in Italy, you probably can organize everything nescessary for the registration-procedure...If the Transport-Agency asks for more Details concerning the "freight" (and they allways ask for Details...), give them rough mesurements and a Photo. This will probably do.Don´t think to much about regulations, because nowadays even the authorities don´t know every detail!Have Fun,pope Beitrag geändert:12.03.08 11:49:00

Pope,Your statement is wrong.Registration documents for trailers are not yet harmonized within the European Union.

For example, in Italy is forbidden attach a trail to a motorbike, so here do not exists trailes to do this. Instead in other EU countries i've seen big bikes (eg. Harleys) with a trailer attached.ALex-

Dear Alex,interestingly, your trailer was built in my hometown Hagen/Westfalen (Priorei is only a part of Hagen). I am sure you are happy to hear that Winterhoff is still in existence and that they still build trailers and trailer accessories in Breckerfeld.Their website is www.winterhoff.de .Perhaps they can help you further in this matter.Good luck!Frank

I will try to send a copy of my documents, so i hope to have a response.Really, i have no words to thank for precious info.
